I have the honour to acknowledge the

receipt of your note, No. 1/1680/31 dated September

2nd, concerning the concentration of the Japanese

residents at certain points.

As you may already know, the said

concentration, started on the morning of september

6th and completed on the following day, was carried

out in an orderly manner.

Will you be so kind as to convey to His

Excellency the Officer Administering the Government

my thanks for his cordial message transmitted to me

through you, and my assurance that I deeply

appreciate the efforts which have been and are being

made by the Hong Kong Government for the protection

of the Japanese subjects in this colony.
